Debit Card Conversion Information

We want to remind you about our debit card processor conversion on Monday, July 15, 2024. This change will not affect any functions that you currently have with your debit card. You will still have the ability to change your PIN by calling an Interactive Voice Response (IVR). You will also have the option to receive a text/email for a suspicious debit card transaction.

 

Please note that while we do not anticipate a disruption in service, we recommend that you have another form of payment available on Monday, July 15 in the event you experience temporary difficulty using your debit card prior to 9:00 AM. Our Contact Center is working diligently to assist members with questions in a timely manner. Please understand there is currently a higher than usual call volume due to the conversion, and the quickest way to reach our Contact Center is by emailing [email protected].

 

Below are a few important items to know after July 15:

  • Fraud alerts for your debit card will alert you via phone call, text message, and email. With this processor change, it will take some time for the new fraud system to build up knowledge of your usual transaction patterns. This may result in a temporary block being placed on your card, at which point you should be contacted to confirm any alerted transactions. Once you have confirmed the transaction(s) as legitimate, any temporary hold will be released. You may respond to the alert that is sent to you via phone or email, or contact Legacy directly at    205-930-5000.
    • As a reminder, Legacy will never ask for sensitive information such as your debit card PIN or CVV code. If anyone asks for these details in order to confirm any activity, do not provide any information and hang up. Contact Legacy immediately at 205-930-5000.
  • Card Controls will be temporarily unavailable beginning July 15. If you are a card control user, we strongly recommend unlocking your card prior to July 15. A new card control app will be available in the coming months. Please check for updates at legacycreditunion.com.
  • The updated Card Activation/PIN Change IVR phone number is 1-866-762-0558.
